Avengers Annual # 10

• Spider-Woman catches a blonde woman who fell off the Golden Gate Bridge

• The woman is physically fine but her mentality is at the level of a newborn infant. The woman is Carol Danvers

• She allegedly disappeared six months ago

• Spider-Woman calls Professor X to see if he can help

• Prox X says her mind is a tabula rasa- a blank slate and that her attacker was a woman going by the name of Rogue

• Rogue easily handles Captain America and takes his memories and abilities by touching him-the same way she did to Carol except much worse because she held on to Carol longer, making the change permanent

• Rogue is Mystique’s protege who is neutralizing the Avengers

• Rogue touches Thor and becomes invulnerable while Mystique incapacitates Tony Stark inside his armor 

• She knocks Vision out

• The Avengers explain to Spider-Woman that Carol had been taken by a being named Marcus to the realm of Limbo

• Being the son of Immortus who is the ruler of Limbo, Marcus could not leave and so he brought Carol there, wooed her, and implanted his essence within her

• Returned to Earth, Carol became 3 months pregnant overnight, gestated and gave birth in 4 days, and Marcus became a man in less than a day

• Marcus had built a machine to allow him to stay on Earth which Hawkeye destroyed but surprisingly Carol agreed to go with Marcus to Limbo

• Rogue releases the Brotherhood of Mutants from Ryker’s Island prison by dropping Iron Man straight down on their cell

• The Avengers confront Rogue and The Brotherhood

• Rogue’s absorbed powers begin to fade so she flees with Mystique leaving the other members behind and dealt with

• The Avengers reunite with a partially recovered Carol at the X-Mansion

• They tell her they’re surprised to see her since she last left with Marcus

• She tells them he’s dead and that none of it was done through her will. Marcus aged rapidly and became dust in a week

• Carol returned herself to Earth. She expresses her anger towards the Avengers for not seeing the truth how she felt

• Carol makes the decision to take time off and find her way again
